I was born and raised in Queens, New York. My parents immigrated to the United States from Haiti in the 70’s. My uncle Jean-Claude Castera was a famous painter in Haiti and my older brother is a painter as well. Naturally, I began sketching at a very young age.
Prior to pursuing a career in fashion, I was in the auto-body repair industry. My passion for cars led me here but the desire to do something less physically taxing in favor of a more creative path grew stronger each day. Although it sometimes feels like wasted time, this technical background has provided a foundation for me to develop my voice as a designer and to strive to produce meticulous realizations of my designs.
I studied Menswear Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, class of 2021. My approach to fashion is clean and classic with an intense focus on function and thoughtful proportions. I aim to reinterpret classic menswear silhouettes through a lens that caters the needs of the modern man. My goal is to create pieces that have longevity and evoke a sense of confidence to the wearer.
